What Makes LEGO So Popular

LEGO is widely considered to be the most popular building toy on the planet. The iconic plastic blocks are played with both by children and adults alike across the globe. In recent times, The LEGO Group has cemented its status as one of the most famous toy manufacturers in history. A small Danish company has quickly transformed into a worldwide corporation thanks to its simple and multifunctional "snap together" sets that have captivated children's minds for nearly seven decades.

The word "LEGO" is a combination of two Danish words, "Leg" and "Godt," which together mean "play well". The very first sets were introduced to the public in 1949. Nearly 30 years later, in 1978, those sets started being complemented with human like figures. The earliest of these figures was a policeman donning a black uniform and white cap. To date, the company's designers have crafted about four million specific and separate figures that are highly collectible.

It may be difficult to believe, but in the year 2017 LEGO won the title of The Most Influential Brand In the World. In the ranking of brands by value, the toymaker placed only 196th. However, LEGO headed the list of most influential companies, surpassing Google, Nike, Disney, and many other world-renowned brands. This system of ranking took into consideration the popularity, reputation, and consumer loyalty towards the brands. This was not the first success the company had enjoyed, as in 2015 LEGO was also ranked first as the most influential brand, and in 2016 the brand was the first runner-up, right behind Disney.....

Each LEGO Set Reference Database page typically includes pictures of the set and minifigures, a set filecard containing general information, as well as full color scans of the complete original LEGO instruction manual for the set, if available. Minimum Suggested Ages for LEGO sets, Trains

LEGO sets are generally recommended for ages 7 and up unless otherwise noted. For LEGO Technic sets, the minimum suggested age range is 8 to 12 years depending on complexity. The BRIO wooden railway products are suitable for ages 3 and up. HO, N and G scale model railroad scenery supplies, buildings, kits, track, and trains (locomotives, rolling stock) are best suited for 13 years and older.
